Girl Scout Badges: Daisies and Brownies

Calling all Girl Scouts! Fisk Avenue DIY offers workshop classes to help you earn your Maker's Badge in either Craft and Tinkering or Art and Design. Come join us at our studio at 840 N Grand Ave, Waukesha, Wisconsin and make something new! By booking and making a deposit, you reserve the space for your troop. We will then send a link with tickets to allow you time to get a final headcount for your projects.

Daisy's Makers Badge

We will offer two projects, one focused on Art and Design and another on Craft and Tinkering. Art and Design will teach the basics of acrylic painting with our guided painting class! We will discuss different types of paints and explore the medium, discuss different brushes and how to blend paints on a canvas. The Craft and Tinkering project will feature our String Art project, and teach the basics of woodworking and how to create with a few simple materials. Participants will learn how to use a hammer, and learn how to look at materials for what they could be! 

Brownie Maker's Badge

We will offer two slightly more advanced project choices to continue on your journey through these mediums. For the Art and Design badge, we will teach Acrylic Pour Painting. This project will emphasize the different methods of using paint as a medium, and promote creative exploration. We will pre-plan our pours, learn about technique, and discuss how abstract art can be used to express a feeling. For your Craft and Tinkering, we will walk you through the process of building your own birdhouse! We learn the basics of when to use a drill or a hammer, assemble your birdhouse, and paint the exterior how you see fit! We will discuss how different birdhouse designs are built for different birds, how to adapt your design depending on species, and how birdhouses can promote your local ecosystem!

Price: $35/Ticket. Deposit=Cost of One Ticket. Estimated Time: 1.5HRS

Liability waiver must be signed before beginning any work with tools. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. We do not offer refunds for workshops, but do offer a one-time transfer to a different date if you were unable to attend.
